IGCSE Math Tuition
Singapore
What a good IGCSE maths tutor must know, the five questions to ask before committing, and an honest note on where ReLURN fits today.
Interview any tutor with these five questions
Spec
Ask which specification they teach: Cambridge 0580, 0980 or Edexcel 4MA1. Generic answers usually mean generic lessons.
Tier
Confirm the tier entry, Core, Extended, Foundation or Higher. Lessons must be aimed at the target grade, not the whole syllabus.
Mark scheme
Marked work should follow the official mark scheme, including method marks. Answer-only marking hides where marks were actually lost.
Series
A tutor who plans around January and June series, with mock papers timed to each, knows the calendar your child is racing.
Reports
Ask for a short written progress note each month: topics covered, paper scores by tier, and the two weakest areas next.
Format fit
Online, home or group: pick the format your child will actually complete weekly, then judge the tutor on marked work returned within seven days.
What lessons must cover
- βCambridge IGCSE Mathematics (0580) / Cambridge IGCSE (9β1) Mathematics (0980): Core and Extended tiers, june and november series (march series also available in india),one non-calculator paper and one calculator paper per tier. Lessons should follow the official syllabus document for this specification.
- βEdexcel International GCSE Mathematics A (4MA1): Foundation and Higher tiers, january and june series, calculator allowed in both papers. Lessons should follow the official syllabus document for this specification.
- βPast-paper practice marked against the official mark scheme, with lost marks re-attempted in the next lesson.
- βTier-specific question selection, since a Core student and an Extended student need entirely different practice sets from the same syllabus.
Where ReLURN fits
Honest answer first: ReLURN does not sell IGCSE tuition today. We are a Singapore adaptive-practice platform covering the MOE syllabus from PSLE to O-Level, where every question is hint-scaffolded and mapped to the exam board, with automatic error logging instead of a human marking pile.
The same adaptive engine applied to an IGCSE question pack is the build we will make when demand is proven. Join the interest list below, start with free O-Level practice in the overlap topics, or read the IGCSE Math hub first.
